Emergency Injunction
On 7 February 2026, the plaintiff filed a Motion for Emergency Injunction alongside the original complaint, arguing that Pepecuu - having already extracted $1,080,000 from the corporate treasury - posed an ongoing risk of transferring or concealing assets to render any future judgment uncollectible. The motion requested an immediate freeze on all of Pepecuu's assets, including her in-game balance, all business balances, bank and NER accounts, real estate plots, inventory, and any other property held anywhere in the Commonwealth. The motion sat undecided for thirteen days. The Emergency Injunction was granted in full on 19 February 2026, freezing all of Pepecuu's assets pending resolution of the case.
Violation of the Injunction
After the Emergency Injunction was granted, the plaintiff ran an in-game /balance check and recorded Pepecuu's balance at $208,290.50 at 03:46 UTC on 20 February 2026. Five days later, on 25 February 2026, the same check showed her balance had fallen to just $7,548.25, a reduction of over $200,000 while the asset freeze was in force. The Department of Commerce submitted an amicus brief to the Court via a confidential sidebar containing further evidence of the transfers. On 26 February 2026 at 18:48 UTC, Judge ko531 ruled that Pepecuu had violated the Emergency Injunction and held her in contempt of court. She was sentenced to a $5,000 fine and 10 minutes imprisonment for the initial contempt charge, with an additional charge - carrying the same fine and sentence - accruing every hour until the court is satisfied that all relocated funds have been returned to her personal balance and seized by the Department of Homeland Security. The funds have yet to be returned to her personal balance. The counters above track the total accrued in real time.
